It's Vacation Time Vacation Packing List: don't forget anything again! Do you know what you're taking... and did you take it?
Have you ever left for vacation, gotten half way there and realized you left some important item sitting on the bed or kitchen counter? It had occurred to you to pack it at some point, but in the flurry of activity surrounding your actual departure, the item was momentarily forgotten and never made it into your suitcase. Now, you either have to make do with what you have or scurry around to replace it once you get to your destination. Both options are anxiety-producing, annoying, and (yes!) preventable.
Who hasn’t had this happen? Of course, each time we vow that the next time we’ll make a packing list so we can check things off as we pack them thereby reducing the chance of leaving some important detail out. But, once we’re back from vacation the urgency is gone, and it doesn’t return until the same thing happens again. Somehow the list never gets made and we just keep our fingers crossed we don’t forget something.
If this sounds familiar, let me help you out. I’ve made a sample packing list for you to use. I find that once the task of making the list is initiated, the fine-tuning is easy. Use this list (see below) as a guide and personalize it the next time you’re going on vacation. It will make your life easier, your packing more efficient, and your departure worry-free… or at least reduced! (If you’d rather have me send the list to you as a word document attachment, just let me know.)
Have a great summer and happy vacationing!
