Accessory Style Swap

Tuesday, June 3, 7:00 – 8:30pm at
The Centres at Burlington
67 South Bedford Street, Suite 400 West (4th floor), Burlington, MA

This was one of the hottest seminars I offer and it only happens once a year! The first time was a bit of an experiment but everyone LOVED it and so it has become a regular feature each spring. So, here it is: the third annual Accessory Swap!

Just the other day I was shopping with a client who said, “This dress would go great with that beautiful necklace I got at the last accessory swap.” So far, everyone has gone home with at least one (and often many) thing they love! And, I am there to help you make great choices and show you why one thing works well vs. another item that doesn’t.

When was the last time you looked through all your accessories?

  • Do you wear all of them or are some sitting there waiting for the right outfit or occasion?
  • Do you get dressed in a hurry and find yourself automatically reaching for the same pieces day after day?
  • Do you have an entire collection of jewelry, scarves and handbags that are rarely, if ever, worn?

Wearing the same thing a lot is not a terrible thing if you LOVE what you’re wearing – although it can get a little boring after a while. One thing is for sure…those unworn items take up valuable real estate!

Special Invitation: If you have a closet or drawer full of jewelry, scarves and handbags you’re not using (either because they don’t fit, the color isn’t good, they don’t go with anything else in your wardrobe, they were a gift and it was never really “you,” etc.) items that are taking up space or burying things you would like to wear, then…

Come to the annual “Accessory Style Swap.”

What’s an “Accessory Style Swap?” It’s an opportunity to bring jewelry, scarves and handbags in great condition that you no longer wear and swap them for something someone else brings – something you love and will wear.

What are the advantages of doing this?

  • It’s a fun way to do your Spring closet cleaning (and a little shopping!) now.
  • It’s an opportunity to try something you might not otherwise try on.
  • It’s the best form of recycling and good for the environment.
  • Your new “finds” cost you nothing!
  • You’ll get Ginger’s guidance to help you make good decisions (no sense trading one unwearable for another).
  • It’s fun!

Anything left over will be donated (you don’t have to take them home with you unless you want to) and anything not taken that can be used in a professional environment will be donated that evening to Dress for Success Boston.

Very important: Please only bring items that are in excellent condition. Everyone who attends must bring 5-10 (no more than 15 please) accessories (scarves, jewelry or handbags) with you so that there is plenty to choose from.

Fashion tip to help you get the most out of the evening: Wear an outfit you’d like to accessorize. It’s the easiest way to see if something really works for you.

This is sure to be a great girly-girl evening filled with fashion, fun and great finds. Invite a friend to come with you and double the fun! Can’t wait to see you there.

Location: The Centres at Burlington
67 South Bedford Street, Suite 400 West (4th floor)
Burlington, MA 01803
(It’s exit 33B toward Burlington off Rte. 128.) (See more directions detailed below.*)

The seminar is only $25 to reserve your space and is limited to 16 women. (Special Note: I will be offering some very special raffle prizes and bonuses only for those who attend. It will be informative and fun!)

*The Centres at Burlington Directions:

When you turn onto South Bedford Road you will see a big sign for #67. Turn there. You will then see an #77 on your left. Pass that and look for the sign (only about one tenth of a mile after you turn (I think it’s the 3rd driveway on your left)) that says “Centres at Burlington” at the top of the sign. For some reason they have buried 67 South Bedford Road at the bottom of the sign — it’s just up a few feet after seeing #77.

Turn in there and go around behind the building. You’ll pass East Lobby entrance first (it will say East Lobby in big letters above the door) and the next one will say West Lobby. We are on the 4th floor (you can see the room (big windows up above) from the lobby.

If you arrive after 7 pm the outside door will be locked. Simply press *01 on the buzzer to your left and we will buzz you in. If that doesn’t work, please call or text my cell phone 617-872-4791.

The seminar is only $25 to reserve your space and is limited to 16 women.

A couple of days before our Lord and Taylor trip, I went to Boomerang in Jamaica Plain. I walked in, zeroed in on my colors, took a bunch of stuff to the fitting rooms, and was astonished. Everything that fit me looked great. Even the things that didn’t fit me looked great color-wise (although of course I didn’t buy them). I shopped for a grand total of 45 minutes, spent $27, and got a whole bag of clothes including both work and weekend wear. But here’s the most amazing thing: as I was checking out, the sales clerk looked at my stuff and said, “This is a really nice color palette.” I was AMAZED. No one had ever said anything like that to me in my life. Shopping was easy, quick, non-wasteful, and I actually bought stuff that noticeably cohered. I am a true believer!
