Add Beauty, Style & Grace to Your Wardrobe with NIC+ZOE

September 17, 2018

Have you ever found a line of clothing that immediately speaks to you and feels like it fills a void in your wardrobe? One that has versatility, comfort and beauty? I hope so, because it’s a great feeling.

I found that experience when I first discovered NIC+ZOE a number of years ago and have been delighted ever since. I find that it fits the needs of many of my clients. There is often something for everyone AND I have even taken some clients there and found their entire season’s wardrobe in one shopping trip!

What I want to share is that whether you find one piece or an entire wardrobe, it’s worth looking more closely at the line (I’ll share some of my favorite pieces below).

And, if you are local to the Boston area, mark your calendars for two upcoming NIC+ZOE events where I will be speaking and helping women make great wardrobe selections choices:

  • Thursday, Oct. 4th from 4 – 7 PM at the Chestnut Hill NIC+ZOE store
  • Thursday, Oct. 11th from 4 – 7 PM at the Hingham NIC+ZOE store

I will be sending a formal invitation to my ‘local events’ list very shortly so be sure you are on that list if you want an invitation – space will be limited on both dates. Email me if you aren’t sure you’re already on the list.

In the meantime, enjoy perusing their selections online and my tips below:

TOPS

What you’ll see here is a variety of styles, cuts and colors – yay!

I fell in love with this pretty tank that floats over the body. The neckline is elegant and different and it has a bit of a hi-lo design so it can easily be worn over skinnier pants. What’s wonderful and true to NIC+ZOE form is that it has a matching duster cardigan like the one below or you can choose their matching signature 4-way cardigan. If you’ve ever tried to find a tank to match or blend with a cardigan vice versa, then you know what a relief it is to have this option readily available!

If you like prints, NIC+ZOE has those, too. I love that they have introduced a beautiful jade color this season and in a variety of prints to work for women with different coloring and personalities.

Here are three fun and very different options:

The print on the far left is subtle and will work for someone who enjoys this color but wants a quieter design – perhaps someone with lots of fine texture in her hair or an understated intensity in her personality.

The print in the middle is fun. It has an order to the design, is higher contrast than the one on the left and actually works beautifully for someone with similar coloring to the model wearing the top.

And, the print on the far right has a wildness to that will appeal to someone who has high contrast in her hair and skin (like the model) AND has a funky, artistic or dynamic side to her personality. If you run cold it will also (as will all 3 tops) combine beautifully with the jade scarf you’ll see HERE (scroll to the bottom of that page and you’ll see the super soft scarf).

Take a look at Mary Jo wearing this simple, elegant off-white top:

The color is soft enough that it works with a lot of skin tones, the style eases over the tummy but has a nice tailored fit and there’s great detailing in the back that sets it apart from other tops out there. You can see the back HERE.

And, as you can see from what Mary Jo is wearing you can change the look and feel of this top by what you choose to wear over it or the accessories you wear.

Be sure to go HERE to check out all the tops in a variety of colors and with descriptions about who wears which style best.

PANTS

Finding the perfect pants is one of those things with which many women struggle. I have found that a lot of my clients LOVE NIC+ZOE wonder stretch pants. They have a beautiful sleek line, the waistband conforms to many waist sizes (and if it’s too big on you it can easily be tailored to fit) and they have two designs that fill a lot of needs in your wardrobe.

The pants on the left are a straight leg pant that has a sleekness without being too slim. And, the pant on the right is the slimmer style with a nice slit on the side. It looks great with some of the looser fit tops, sweaters, dusters and tunics and you can wear them with any heel height.

And, these pants each come in several colors and, like many of NIC+ZOE clothes, in regular, petite and plus sizes.

CARDIGANS & JACKETS

Are you looking for the perfect cardigan or jacket to toss on over an outfit? NIC+ZOE has some fabulous options.

You saw the pretty seafoam duster above (with the matching seafoam tank). What’s great about that cardigan is that the lines are clean and simple so you don’t get swallowed up in too much fabric. And, it can easily be shortened if it’s too long for you.

There are two jackets I have to highlight below and then you’ll see several more HERE.

So many of my clients are looking for a casual jacket they can toss on over an outfit when the weather gets a bit cool. When I saw this jacket I fell in love! It’s kind of like a more elegant version of a jean jacket with slight tailoring so it doesn’t feel too boxy, a great neckline AND stretch (yay!). Plus it comes in several colors including the one below.

The other jacket I have to mention is a fabulous peacoat. It’s knit (so it’s comfy), can be worn open or closed (for a closer fit or for warmth) and is washable (just be careful you don’t wash it with anything linty).

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention their 4-way cardigan that comes in both a summer and winter weight and always in a variety of colors and sizes. You’ll see that along with my other favorite jacket/cardigan suggestions HERE.

DRESSES

NIC+ZOE always has a variety of dress styles from which to choose, but these two are regulars that pop up in a fun selection of prints.

The ‘Twist’ dress is great! It has beautiful, flattering gathers at the waist and just the right amount of curve that it can work on a number of body shapes.

One thing to consider with that dress. If you are short-waisted or have a short torso, get this dress in petite – even if you are not technically petite. I have had several clients who are over 5’6” tall who have found the petite dress works better because the knot hits at their waistline (whereas with the regular size it tends to hit too low). So, don’t give up on this dress if you try on the regular and the fit isn’t right.

The twirl dress is so pretty and great for women who have curvy hips. It has just the right amount of A-line so it eases over the hips and feels fun and flirty – just ‘twirl’ in it and you’ll see what I mean.

This deep charcoal/gunmetal with the streaks of blue will work nicely on many people …especially those for whom black is too harsh. And, as you’ll see in the photos in the catalogue, it looks great with one of the 4-way cardigans over it. No more guessing what to wear if you get cold!

If you are new to NIC+ZOE, I highly recommend checking it out. The fabrics are comfortable, travel well and most are washable. Plus if you are looking for a mix and match wardrobe or are putting together a capsule wardrobe, this can be a great place to start.

Of course, if you need help, let me know. I regularly shop here with my private clients and we can talk about how you can become a private client.
