It’s very simple. Fashion stylists work with you to create a wardrobe that helps you feel great about how you look. At Total Image Consultants of Boston, I take my role as a fashion stylist, wardrobe consultant and personal shopper very seriously, and I do it well! But what does that mean? How can working with a personal shopper or any of our other services positively impact your life? And, why Total Image Consultants?
“Ginger, your services are too precious to put a price tag on. Thank you for helping me with this process of rediscovering myself and being comfortable with who I am instead of wasting time hiding from it. Beauty is much more than just the clothes we wear, I now know the true meaning of this. Thank you so much!”
“Thank you, thank you, thank you! I feel utterly fantastic in everything I got today. I did a mini fashion show for my son when I got home. His words “Mom, I don’t want you to be mad, but you look like you lost at least 20 pounds!”. And then my husband said “You look fantastic. And 10 years younger! BUT, the biggest difference is in the way I feel. Joyous doesn’t even begin to cover it! I came home and officially liberated 8 things from my closet that don’t bring me joy. Can’t wait to make even more space for the new pieces I’m sure to bring home! Again, I appreciate all of your guidance and coaching as I take the steps in bringing my inside out! Happy, happy new year!”
“Thanks so much for all you did on Monday with me…I was truly amazed and didn’t dare hope that I’d actually go home with armfuls of great new clothes! These are just the right “first steps” for me to take (to upgrade from my usual leggings, to wear jeans again after 30 years, and to add a bit more color and spark). You made shopping very comfortable for me…Truth be told, it was really hard for me to confront my body in a 3-way mirror after hiding for decades. It makes me want to renew a commitment to fitness, but instead of coming away from our shopping time discouraged, I feel really good about wearing new things that look so nice (and are — amazingly — just as comfortable as the leggings! I think the ‘Who Taught You How to Dress?’ program also helped me have more compassion for myself. It’s all sinking in! Thank YOU!”
“My new wardrobe made a huge difference at work. I’ve been promoted and able to increase my pay scale!”
Your image is a very personal reflection of you! Having been in business for over 25 years in the Boston area, I know how scary it can be to invite someone into your closet and ultimately the dressing room of a store. This is private space and also a place where major decisions are made about how you will present yourself in your personal and professional lives. Not to mention that you spend money on the choices you make and, of course, you want to feel comfortable that you’ve made choices that reflect who you are.
“I’ve considered hiring an image consultant for 2 years. Having finally done it, I am amazed at the impact on my self-image of just one shopping trip. I look forward to the next. You bring quality of perspective and persistence, balancing competency and passion for the work.”
So, what do you need to know before making a decision to have your own personal fashion stylist or personal shopper?
This service is available to everyone no matter what your shopping budget or lifestyle needs. Everyone wants to feel and look their best and that’s what I help you do.
There are many.
These are just a few of the reasons for engaging a fashion stylist or personal shopper to make your life easier!
By helping you eliminate the things that don’t work for you and guide you in making new choices that suit your style, body shape, budget, lifestyle, and personality.
You have a choice: your closet or my studio, whichever suits your needs, preference and budget.
My role as a fashion stylist is to guide you in making decisions about your existing wardrobe. Ultimately, you make the final decision about what to get rid of, store away, give to a friend or relative, have altered, or keep.
That’s completely up to you. Some clients lay things out that they are particularly interested in looking at and others just open their closet doors and we start at the very beginning! Of course, if the consultation happens at Total Image Consultants’ studio, then more preparation is necessary to determine what to bring with you.
Personal shoppers do not impose their tastes on you — that’s critical to know. Choosing where to shop is a collaborative effort. I guide you based on your lifestyle, body shape, personal style and budget. We can shop at any store from H&M and Sears to Nordstrom and Newbury Street in Boston.
That’s fine. I tailor your personal shopping experience to meet your needs and budget. I help my clients shop everywhere from Kohls and Dress Barn to Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdale’s and boutiques. It’s all personalized for you.
I work with women of all sizes and shapes. About 1/4 of my clients are plus size and at least another 1/3 wear a size to 3 sizes different on top and bottom. I believe all women, regardless of size and shape, are beautiful. My goal as a fashion stylist and personal shopper is to help you feel and radiate that beauty!
Every fashion stylist and personal shopper brings her own personality and flair for style to the experience. At Total Image Consultants, I pride myself on guiding you in a way that empowers, educates, and delights you. I use my practical experience, training, eye for balance and color, and intuitive sense to help you feel fabulous about the way you look!
My clients come from all over the world — from Boston and the New England area to Switzerland and New Zealand — either to work with me in person or to work virtually through the ‘Who Taught You How to Dress?’ coaching program.
Just one thing. As a personal shopper, I have one shopping rule: You must try on anything I ask you to try on. You don’t have to buy it, but trying it on can be eye opening and expand your options of colors, styles, and fabrics that look good on you!
That’s up to you. The average is 2-3 hours, but it can be shorter or longer depending on your needs and budget.
“Thank you, Ginger, for expanding you offerings to fit our needs, and thank you for the reminders about cruelty-free clothing.... at least I'm aware of what I'm doing now, and in ways I wasn't before.”
